My name is Rosana and I'm glad you're here. I have been involved in psychotherapy for the past 16 years, and working with clients for the past decade. I have trained in diverse types of therapy, including Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR-trained), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) within a trauma informed and strength-based approach.
Dr. DaSilva earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of the Sacred Heart in Santurce, Puerto Rico, where her dedication to understanding the human mind deepened. She went on to complete a Master of Science in 2013 and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2016 at the same institution. Her clinical training includes a pre-doctoral internship at the Puerto Rico Bureau of Corrections and Rehabilitation and an APA-accredited internship at Carlos Albizu University, both of which broadened her expertise and compassion for working with diverse populations.
Outside of her practice, Dr. DaSilva finds peace and inspiration in her personal life. Her love for animals, especially her therapeutic dogs, plays a vital role in her sense of balance and healing. Whether traveling with her family and dogs or finding stillness in nature, she treasures quiet moments that restore her spirit. Grounded in her Puerto Rican heritage, she also enjoys exploring new cultures and fostering connections across different communities. Her approach to life and therapy is centered on compassion, understanding, and the belief that healing is a journey of mind, body, and soul.
Dr. DaSilva’s professional journey has led her through a wide range of therapeutic settings. Her experience extends across Puerto Rico, and Massachusetts, where she has supported individuals through some of life’s most challenging moments with steadiness and care.
With a focus on working with adults, and individuals navigating life transitions, Dr. DaSilva is passionate about guiding her clients toward greater emotional balance and self-understanding. Her clinical expertise includes treating depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem and self-image issues, cultural identity, binge eating disorder, and the psychological aspects of bariatric surgery.
“Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally.” – Jon Kabat-Zinn (Founder of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction)
“What is useful about EMDR is that it allows patients to process traumatic memories in a way that leads to a peaceful resolution.” – Francine Shapiro (Founder of EMDR)
The idea behind cognitive behavioral therapy is that our thoughts cause our feelings and behaviors, not external things like people, situations, and events.” – David D. Burns (Psychiatrist and pioneer in CBT)
The first step in therapy is talking. Let's find a time where we can meet and talk about what's on your mind.
